Hi!  I'm a busy mom with two teenagers, a wonderful husband, and a great job working in an elementary school.  I enjoy cooking, reading, travel, and scuba diving.  Originally from San Francisco, I've lived in Hawaii for 25 years, 6 on Oahu, 19 on the Big Island.  I moved to Hawaii with just one suitcase soon after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in English.

Based on my Hawaii hubs, you'd think I worked for the Department of Tourism rather than the Department of Education.  I really want visitors to the islands to get to know the Hawaii I know and love, which has nothing to do with a plastic flower lei or a cheap aloha shirt. I was thrilled when my hub An Insider's Guide to the Kona Coast of Hawaii was chosen as Hub of the Day.

I am also a consummate anglophile - I love all things English, even the food!

My bucket list is: England (again), Scotland, Ireland, Australia, Bali, Greece (again), Italy, Spain, Hong Kong (again), and Africa (maybe Kenya or Tanzania).  Phew, I hope I make it!
